A revolution in the freeze-drying market
In 2017, Lyophitech innovated by presenting a dynamic freeze-drying solution using a pendulum.
Our innovation
Freeze-drying is a low-temperature, low-pressure drying process used to preserve sensitive products. The solvent contained in the product is dried by sublimation (direct passage from the frozen to the gaseous state) and the vapours are trapped on a condenser. This operation is normally carried out statically in cabinets with several shelves containing trays of products.
Our patented technology starts by separating the freezing and drying stages. First, the product is deep-frozen using liquid nitrogen. This frozen product is then agitated during sublimation, which rapidly increases heat and mass transfer.
The product is agitated by a pendulum movement inside the sublimator and the vapour is condensed in another tank connected by flexible hoses.
The advantages of our process
Better quality freeze-dried products
Preservation of the nature of the products
Simplification of formulations
Consistent production and high product quality
Reduced energy consumption
Compared with static equipment, due to the considerably lower mass of steel used
Operator protection
Reduced risk of exposure during loading and unloading
Equipment can be contained
Decontamination and Cleaning In Place (CIP)
Lower labour requirements
No loading of trays
Gravity loading/unloading operations
A unique ‘bead’ effect

Lyophitech’s innovative beads allow water to evaporate in three dimensions, creating a microporous result.
During the sublimation phase, heat is applied to the rotating beads. The homogeneity of the heat and pressure applied greatly improves the quality of the final product. Excellent dissolution quality of the beads without the disadvantages of powder.
